The site of the first Spanish Mission in Florida, Mission San Luis was occupied by a Native American tribe, the Apalachee. This important state site was chosen for development by the Division of Historical Resources. Completed in 2002, it consists of immersive exhibits, original illustrations, graphics, interactive displays and special LED lighting effects in a cast bronze site model. Mission San Luis will be featured in an upcoming program on the History Channel.
